The Calderdale Way (Year 2)
For the second year running, St Pol Striders have, between them, run the full length of the Calderdale Way.
Each runner selected which section they wanted to run - the moors above Ripponden…the packhorse trails around Heptonstall… the woods around Hardcastle Crags. A few even completing the whole 50+ miles circumference.
For the second time running, I also completed the section on my home turf - joining the pack at the start in Hebden rising at ‘crack of gnat’s fart’ (as one of our runners fondly calls it), watching the sun come up en route up to the tops. Then leaving the rest of the pack at Old Town to continue their various legs of the journey.
This year, they finished around 21:30, returning, as we’d begun with head torches to guide the way.
